Dover, DE, The Delaware Lottery starts selling tickets on Friday, Sept. 8 for Rolldown® Jackpot, a new multistate lottery game that pays out all the prize money at each drawing, even when the jackpot is not awarded.   Rolldown® drawings will be held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday starting Sept. 9.

"Rolldown® is a unique game that gives players better overall odds (1 in 16.684) of winning a cash prize than traditional lotto games," said Wayne Lemons, director, Delaware Lottery.  "We're excited to bring Delaware this innovative game from the Multistate Lottery Association, the organization behind our popular Powerball® game."

When purchasing Rolldown® tickets, players can either select their own five two-digit numbers from 01 to 55 or ask for a Rolldown® Quick Pick Lottery computer generated ticket.   If none of the tickets purchased for the drawing match all five winning numbers in the drawing, the jackpot "rolls down" to increase the cash prizes of ticket holders who match four, three or two winning numbers. If a ticket holder wins the Rolldown® grand prize, other players win $500 for any four winning numbers, $10 for any three winning numbers and $1 for any two winning numbers.   The grand prize amount for each drawing depends on all ticket sales in participating lottery jurisdictions.

Rolldown® tickets cost $1 each and will be available at all Delaware Lottery on-line Retailers.  From Sept. 8 to Sept. 22, customers can get a free Rolldown® Quick Pick ticket with the purchase of a single five-dollar POWERBALL® ticket.

Other states selling Rolldown® tickets are Iowa, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, South Dakota and West Virginia.   Drawings will be held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at approximately 10:30 p.m. EST at the Multistate Lottery Association drawing studio in West Des Moines, IA.  Ticket sales for Rolldown® close at 9:45 p.m. on drawing days.

Since the start of Lottery operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed more than $969 million to the state's General Fund to help finance needed state services that benefit everyone in Delaware.  The Lottery offers a variety of games including POWERBALL®, the fastest-growing multimillion-dollar jackpot game; All Cash Lotto; Play 3 and Play 4; and a variety of Instant Games.
